Our family owned and operated funeral home was founded in 1937 by our grandfather Cornelius V. Keohane in North Quincy. Our Dad, Edward J. “Ed” Keohane, now works with us (Dennis and John) and our team of highly experienced, caring professionals. In 1981, the Pyne Funeral Home in Hingham became part of our family and later was renamed Pyne Keohane Funeral Home.
Community commitment has always been a hallmark for us. Our dad is founder and president of the Quincy Partnership. The partnership is a group of passionate small business people focused on highlighting Quincy’s rich history and making Quincy a better place to live, work and play. Their many projects include commissioning the statues of John Adams, John Quincy Adams and Abigail Adams, lighting Quincy’s historic buildings, creating “Welcome to Quincy” signage and installing a fountain in Merrymount Field.
We are also involved in Rotary, Kiwanis, Knights of Columbus, South Shore Chamber of Commerce, Nantasket Chamber of Commerce, North Quincy High School Grief Program, Sacred Heart School in North Quincy, St. Paul’s School in Hingham, Massachusetts Memorial Tree Program, the Bosox Club and many other groups. We also sponsor many youth sports teams in Quincy, Hingham and Hull.
“Music at the Gazebo” is our free annual concert series that we organize and sponsor at the Veteran’s Memorial Park Gazebo in Hull. It takes place on three Sundays in September and features a wide range of musicians. We’re proud that this series has become an end of summer tradition.
Edward Keohane was named Sun "Quincy Citizen of the Year" for Outstanding Community Service, April 18, 2004. Click to Download PDF files: Page 1, Page 2, Page 3
