Welch, Catherine R. (Gearin) of Boston, died July 29, 2014.

Kay was born, raised, and educated in Charlestown. She married her husband Irwin in 1950 then settled down in Dorchester to raise a family. Although Kay liked many things, she lived for her grandchildren and was so proud of them. Kay was loved by all and will be missed by many for her love, care, and friendship. 

Kay was predeceased by her loving husband Irwin after 54 years of marraige. She is survived by her loving children Donna Sheehan and her husband Donald of Weymouth and Diane Samaras and her husband Alex of Hudson, NH. Cherished Grandmother of Lauren Bronske, Christopher Sheehan, and Nicholas Samaras. Great Grandmother of Jackson and Vivienne Bronske. Beloved sister of John Gearin and his wife Joan of Arlington, William Gearin and his wife Anne of Merrimack, NH, and the late Mary Bilodeau. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital)  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 10:00 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth at 11 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
