Edward J. Hinckley

Hinckley, Edward J. of Hingham, died suddenly at the South Shore Hospital surrounded by his loving family on November 12, 2014. 

He was married 65 years to his loving wife Barbara M. (Fitzgerald) Hinckley of Hingham.  Loving father  Edward D. Hinckley of Hingham, Susan Bocchino of Marshfield, Daniel B. Hinckley of Weymouth, Joanne Hinckley of Boston, Barbara A. Hinckley of Hingham, Pamela J. Hinckley of Cohasset and Stephen J. Hinckley and his wife Lisa  of Hingham.  Father in law of the late Richard Bocchino and Robert Williamson.  Cherished grandfather of  7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Edward is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews.

Edward was born in Boston and grew up in Jamaica Plain.  He worked for the Boston Public Schools  for many years before retiring.  He and his wife Barbara owned and operated Lilac House Antiques in Hingham and Cohasset where they enjoyed many years in the Antique business.  Edward was a huge History buff and loved loved doing crossword puzzles.  He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a WWII Army Veteran.  Edward will be remembered by his family as a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who always had a smile on his face.  He will be missed by all who known and loved him.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial in Hingham Centre Cemetery, Hingham.
