Henry R. Kennedy

Henry R. Kennedy, of Weymouth, died April 16, 2013.  

A proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Henry enlisted at the age of 17 and served with the 1st BTN 11th Marine Regiment 1st Marine Division in the Korean War during 1952 and 1953. Henry worked at the Fore River Shipyard in Quincy for over 30 years, after its closing he worked as a custodian for the Town of Weymouth School Department.  Henry was a selfless man who always put others before himself.  He greatly enjoyed his daily walk at the beach.  Henry will always be remembered for his unique sense of humor.

Leaving behind his loving wife of 58 years Barbara Kennedy of Weymouth.  Devoted father of Linda White and her husband Robert of Weymouth, Susan Kelly and her husband Joseph of Braintree, Barbara Larkin and her late husband Gene of Braintree, Lisa MacLeod of Marshfield, Steven Kennedy and his wife Zuly of Pennsylvania, Brian Kennedy and his wife Yvonne of South Weymouth and the late Sharon Lee Kennedy.  Caring brother of Elizabeth McKeown of Framingham, William Kennedy of Bridgewater and the late Edward Kennedy.  Beloved grandfather of Paul, Michael, Jaclyn, Jennifer, Conor, Emily, Keith, Hannah, Ryan, Aidan, Ava and Lena and eight great grandchildren and  many nieces and nephews.   

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday from 3-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte. 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30 AM on Monday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth at 9:30 AM.  Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
