Kelly, Joan M. of Hingham, died October 18, 2014.
Joan was born and raised in Dorchester and attended the Chandler School for Women. After school Joan was employed by the State Department in the Foreign Service Division. During her 36 years of service, she worked in 16 foreign countries, including Egypt, Russia , Thailand, Spain, Guatemala, Brazil, as well as France, Italy and Austria. When not in a foreign post, she maintained a residence in Washington, DC. Joan loved meeting new people and keeping up to date with current events and continued to do both well into her retirement years at Linden Ponds.
Joan is survived by her devoted cousin Carol Correia and her husband Everett of Portsmouth, RI.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 10 AM on Tuesday. Burial in New Calvary Cemetery, Boston will immediately follow.
