John L. Howley, Jr.

Howley, John  L., Jr. of Weymouth, 99, died July 17, 2014.

John was born and raised in Quincy and had lived in Weymouth for over 65 years. John was very active at the Town River Yacht Club in Quincy where he was the oldest honorary lifetime member. Beloved husband of the late Evelyn (Grant) Loving father of John L. Howley, III and his wife, Cora, of Del Rio, TX, Robert G. Howley, former Weymouth Park Commissioner,  of North Weymouth, Kenneth M. Howley and his wife, Sandra, of Holbrook, Brian S. Howley of Yarmouth Port, and Christine Dindy of Weymouth. Brother of the late Gordon Howley, Frances Pierard, and Clare Kennedy. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

John worked for over 46 years as a machine shop supervisor in the Quincy Shipyard.  He loved cruising in his boat traveling to the islands and along the inter-coastal waterway to Florida. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Monday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off RT.3A-Bicknell Sq.)  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 10:00 AM on Tuesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Old North Cemetery, Weymouth.
