Lorraine D. Coffin

Lorraine D. (Palmer) Coffin, 88, of Linden Ponds, Hingham, MA, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2013 at her residence. 

She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Harold Coffin, who passed away in 2010. Born in Attleboro, she was the daughter of Albert and Beatrice (Jackson) Palmer, and sister of the late Muriel Soper.  She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Laurie Soper of Auburn, CA, Paul Soper of Plymouth, MA, and David Moss of Brockton, MA, and also by several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Lorraine was a 1943 graduate of Attleboro High School, and received her bachelor’s degree from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1947. She worked as a graphics designer, and retired after a long career at the Foxboro Company. 

An avid skier, Lorraine was one of the founders and a lifelong member of the Attleboro Ski Club.  She was also an accomplished artist and enjoyed many arts and crafts.  She lived in Falmouth, MA for many years before moving to Hingham.

A memorial service will be held in Renaissance Gardens, at Linden Ponds in Hingham, MA on Sunday, December 1, at 1:00 pm.
