Mary Riley

Riley, Mary (Woods) of Hull, went home to the Lord on Saturday, September 13, 2014.

She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Riley, cousin of John & Marilyn Tully of Framingham and Jean Lawlor of Hull.  Mary is also survived by dozens of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Mary worked at the Social Security Office for the Federal Government for many years.  After retirement, Mary moved to Hull and has been a resident there for almost 20 years.  As a devout Catholic and daily communicant, Mary was very active in the Parish including visiting the homebound, Eucharistic Minister and an active member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society for over 16 years.  She led a Tuesday evening rosary group and frequently drove parishioners to Mass and other Church activities.  Mary was also active in the Hull Senior Center and frequently played bingo and whist.  Mary was an avid sports fan…Red Sox, Patriots, and Bruins.  She dined frequently at the Salt Water Diner in Hull with her friends and enjoyed seeing the staff.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours on Thursday, September 18th, 9:30 – 10:30 am, at St. Ann Church, 204 Samoset Avenue, Hull.  A Mass of Celebration of Mary’s Life will be held at St. Ann Church at 11:00 am, following the wake.  A private burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mary may be made to St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, PO Box 565, Hull, MA  02045 or St. Vincent de Paul, Hull Branch, 208 Samoset Avenue, Hull, MA 02045.
