Nora C. Heaney

Heaney, Nora C. (Heffernan) of Quincy formerly of Galway City, Ireland died unexpectedly at home on July 24, 2014.

The beloved wife of 48 years to  John Heaney of Quincy. Loving mother of  Theresa Sullivan-Campbell and her husband Thomas, Margaret Pascarelli and her husband Daniel and John Heaney and his partner Chip McIntosh all of Quincy. Cherished Grammie of Patrick Sullivan, Riley & Shea Pascarelli, Mikey Campbell and Colby McIntosh. Dear sister of Della O’Brien, Margaret Horin, Bridie Carey, Thomas, Peter, Owen, Sean and James Heffernan and the late Michael & Gerard Heffernan. Mother in law of the late John-Paul Sullivan. She is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews and cousins.

Nora has been in the United States for 50 years. She worked as a supervisor at the Robin House Nursing Home in Quincy for many years. She enjoyed the Red Sox & Bruins, traveling, music and dancing.  Nora had a kind heart and a generous spirit which she shared with all those around her. The true essence of her life were her grandchildren, she adored them, from the day trips to the sleep overs, she treasured  every minute she had with them. Her passing leaves a void in their lives that no-one can fill, but her passionate sense of family will be the legacy she leaves them. She will live on in their hearts forever. They are truly grateful for all the wonderful memories they created over the years and feel blessed to have had her in their lives. She will be dearly missed.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 3-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
