SAGANEY, Richard A. 83, of South Weymouth, formerly of Dorchester died at home on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 after a brave battle with cancer. 

Beloved and devoted husband to the late Patricia A. (Uhlman) Saganey.

After graduation from high school, Richard joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served our country for 26 years retiring as a Chief Petty Officer.  Following his naval career, he worked 23 years at the MBTA. Dad loved working in his yard, playing poker with the guys, traveling extensively throughout Europe with Patricia and spending time with family. 

Loving father of Maureen Daley and her husband William of Plymouth, Michael E. Saganey and his wife Lynn of Weymouth, Sharon P. Harriman and her husband Ralph of Weymouth, Paul A. Saganey and his wife Jamie of Norfolk, Sean Saganey and his wife Patricia A. of Easton and Stephen P. Saganey of Seattle, WA. Brother of Ellin Mulkern of Norwood, MA. Brother-in-law to Harry, Joe and Mary. Loving grandfather of Dan, Heather, Lisa, Megan, Richard, Eileen, Kelly, Renee, Kendra and Jason. Great grandfather of Leke, Ronan, Trevor, Kayla, Fiona and Skyla. Also Uncle to several nieces and nephews. 

The family wishes to acknowledge Jill Burke Nelson, NP and Noopur Raje, MD, his MGH caregiver’s for their grace, humor and compassion during Dads illness – it was invaluable. 

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday at 4:30 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).  Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8:30 AM on Saturday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 9:30 AM. Burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth.
