Sullivan, Rita M. (Burchsted) of Eastham,  formerly of Quincy died September 18, 2014 peacefully in her home after a long illness at 107 years of age.

Beloved wife of the late Herbert E. Sullivan.  Devoted sister of Olive Granville of Mashpee and the late Russell Burchsted.  Cherished aunt of 8 nieces and nephews .  Dear friend and companion of the late Artin (Harry) Balian.

Rita was born in Quincy and was a lifelong resident of Wollaston and lived on Cape Cod in  Eastham for the past decade.  She worked at Textron Corp. in Braintree for many years before retiring.  In her earlier years she  modeled  for the former Jordan Marsh Co, Boston.  She spent several winters in Naples, Florida and also enjoyed traveling, visiting Scotland, Germany, Italy and the Caribbean Islands.  Rita also enjoyed gardening and flowers.  Most of all she loved her family, she will be missed by all who had the pleasure to have known and loved her.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday 9:30-10:30 AM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10:15 AM on Wednesday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 11 AM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
