Robert McNeil

McNeil, Robert of East Bridgewater, died July 21, 2014.

Bob was born, raised, and educated in Dorchester. He married his high school sweetheart, Edith, and started a family with her in Quincy. They later settled in Braintree where they continued to raise their family and finally spent the last 8 years as a retired couple in E. Bridgewater. Bob  worked at Polaroid in Cambridge and Waltham and retired after 35yrs. Bob loved fishing and giving his grandchildren a hard time and will always be remembered for his sense of humor and wise remarks.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Edith (Tribuna) McNeil, His loving children, Karen Cardinale of Brockton, Theresa Corbett and her husband Tom of Abington, Elaine Balfour and her husband Kevin of Brockton, Robert McNeil and his wife Cheryl of Holbrook, Diane Leonard and her husband Robert of Pembroke. Bob will be missed by his 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters Barbara Johnston, Anne Fitzgerald, and was predeceased by his brother Richard McNeil.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH Weymouth (Rte. 18 opp. South Shore Hos.). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 8AM Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Bridget’s Church, Abington at 9AM. Cremation will follow.
