Veteran

William C. Tooze

He was the epitome of the word Gentleman. His name was William Clark Tooze.  He left a void upon his passing in the arms of his beloved partner and soul mate Rita Tosone on Tuesday July 22nd at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth. The son of the late beloved Beulah and Joseph Tooze.

What we contribute to the people in our lives determines how one will be remembered.  He will be remembered as a unique, fun loving, talented, selfless human being.  He had a love of sailing and music having been an accomplished trumpet player and he loved to dance.

Bill never met a person he did not like.  Everyone was his friend.  He graduated from Weymouth High School in 1947 and served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Crisis. He was Chief of Security at the former General Dynamics Shipyard and later was employed at Quincy Mental Health until his retirement.  He enjoyed many years going to Aruba and his cottage in Laconia New Hampshire.

In addition to his devoted partner Rita Tosone of Weymouth MA, he is survived by 3 sisters; whom he lovingly referred to as being “their favorite brother”; Janet Van Stone of Seattle WA, Barbara Sacchetti of Brockton MA and Katherine Hogue of Ft. Lauderdale FL.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to gratefully acknowledge the care that Bill received during his 8 months stay at the Pope Nursing Home in Weymouth MA.

In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472

Good job Billy Tooze, you earned your wings and your bright light will forever shine upon us.  Twinkle, twinkle little star.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 12-3pm in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off RT.3A-Bicknell Sq.), followed by his Funeral Service at 3 PM. Cremation will follow.
