Aileen Harvey

Aileen Johnston Harvey (100 years) born August 11, 1924, in Hull, England and died on April 29, 2025, in Hingham, MA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clara Ellen (Apsey) Johnston and William Johnston; her husband, Earl Miners Harvey (1918-2011) her brother, Kenneth Johnston (Mona) and her daughter, Jillian Harvey Asquith (1956-2022). Aileen was the beloved Mother of Karen Harvey (David R. Kolquist) of Carbondale, CO; Ian Harvey (Kyung Sook Koo) Sacramento, CA; Jillian Harvey Asquith (Kerry T. Asquith) of Mashnee Island, MA; and Brian Harvey (Wendy Sefert) of Steamboat Springs, CO. She was the beloved Grandmother of Alyssa J. Asquith-Choojitarom (Viravat Choojitarom) of Iowa City, IA, Kyle H. Asquith of Pittsfield, NH and Griffin S. Harvey of Steamboat Springs, CO. She also leaves a niece and nephew in England, Barbara Oddy and Tim (Val) Johnston.

Aileen grew up in Hull, graduated from St. Mary’s High School and Hull Commercial College. She and her family later moved to Liverpool, England where she met her husband. Aileen married Earl Miners Harvey on August 17, 1946, in Liverpool, England and they honeymooned in Switzerland. They sailed on the Queen Elizabeth I to America and eventually relocated to the Boston area. In 1952 they moved to Weston where they raised their family. Aileen lived in Weston from 1952 -1999. She was active and enjoyed many interests such as gardening, tennis, skiing, and figure skating. She was an advocate for children with Learning Disabilities and headed the Weston Chapter of MACLD (Massachusetts Association for Children with Learning Disabilities) from 1972 – 76. She was a member of the Weston Racquet Club, the Skating Club of Boston, Weston 4H, and St. Peter’s Church for many years. She worked at St. Peter’s Church as the Parish Administrator from 1976 – 1992. After raising her family, she and her husband moved to Bishops Forest, Waltham, MA and lived there from 1999 -2016; she then moved to Linden Ponds in Hingham, MA. At Linden Ponds Aileen had many interests and friends; she enjoyed playing bridge, walking and reading. She will be missed by her many friends and family.
