Allan H. Macdonald Jr.

MacDonald, Allan H., Jr. of Hingham, died July 5, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.  

Beloved husband of 50 years to Pam MacDonald (Topham) of Hingham.  Loving father of Scott MacDonald and his wife Marianne of Hingham, Gregg MacDonald and his wife Keri of Duxbury and Geoff MacDonald and his wife Karen of Weymouth.  Cherished “Poppi” to Hilary, Luke, Megan, Dillon and Nolan.  Brother of Janet Miller and her husband Jack of Virginia.  He leaves behind his best buddy, his dog Lucy.  Also survived by nieces and nephews. 

Allan grew up in East Weymouth, son of Allan and Marie MacDonald.  Allan received his undergraduate degree from Northeastern University and his MBA from Babson College in International Finance.  He worked for State Street Bank, BankBoston and was an Executive Director at Oracle Corporation until he retired in 2013.  He was an avid golfer, loved to fish and cherished his time at his beach house on Big Sandy Pond in Plymouth with his family, especially his grandchildren.  

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Monday, July 11, 2016 at St. Jerome Church, Weymouth at 11 AM. Burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Hingham.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Allan may be made to continue to support the wonderful care he received from Norwell Visiting Nurse Association & Hospice, 120 Longwater Drive, Norwell, MA 02061.
