With heavy hearts and endless love, we celebrate the life of our beloved Andree Anna David Mathurin, who passed peacefully on May 18, 2026, at the age of 90, surrounded by her loving family in Boston, Massachusetts.

Andree was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on March 2, 1936, and was the daughter of the late Decius Joseph and Pauline David. She was raised and educated in Haiti and later immigrated to the United States in March of 1985 with the determination to build a better future for her family. After establishing herself in her new home, she worked tirelessly and made countless sacrifices to bring all six of her children and her grandchild to the United States, creating opportunities and a foundation that would benefit generations to come. Her courage, resilience, and dedication to her family are among the greatest gifts she leaves behind.

A devoted Catholic, Andree’s faith was the foundation of her life. She had a deep passion for God and was dedicated to her church community, faithfully attending Mass, church trips, and parish activities whenever she could. Her faith guided her through every season of life and was reflected in the kindness and grace she showed to others.

Andree also held a deep love for her homeland of Haiti. She enjoyed keeping up with current events and politics and could often be found listening to Haitian news, always wanting to stay connected to everything happening back home. Her pride in her roots never faded and remained an important part of who she was.

She was a gifted seamstress who loved to sew, decorate, sing, cook, and bring people together. Whether she was planning a family gathering, organizing a celebration, or preparing a meal for loved ones, she had a special way of making everyone feel welcome and cherished.

Known for her sass, her kindness, and her unmistakable sense of style, Andree was a truly fashionista. She carried herself with elegance and confidence, always dressed beautifully and never afraid to let her personality shine. Her laughter, wisdom, and spirited nature could light up any room.

More than anything, Andree loved her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt whose love knew no bounds. She worked tirelessly to ensure her children and grandchildren had every opportunity to succeed, and her legacy lives on through each of them.

She is survived by her 6 children Marie Carole Mathurin and her husband Wilner Maurice (deceased), Evelyne M. Mathurin, Marie Roger Mathurin, Jean-Eddy Mathurin and his wife Jodelyne Mathurin, Marie Judy Mathurin and her husband Micalo Simon, and Yanick Mathurin. Her nephew and godson, Hilaire S. Mathurin. Her grandchildren, Cliford Mathurin and his wife Christina S. Mathurin, Erica Jean Jacques, Tawana Colas, Geory Fequiere, Wilner Maurice, Samantha Simon, Joanne Simon, Isaiah Duplessy, Nathanael Simon, Nehemie Simon, and Joeddy Mathurin. Her great-grandchildren Lucas C. Mathurin, Marcus C. Mathurin, Shackeil Jordon Boyd Jr, Quentin James Boyd, Xavien Joel Boyd, and Niko Maurice. Her siblings Gerald David (deceased) and wife Germaine David. Germaine David Lindor (deceased), Daniel David (deceased), Seneque Seant (deceased). Her Nieces and nephews: Leonard David, Carl David, Carine David-Sautier, Cassandra David, Serge Lindor, Yves Lindor, Patrick Lindor, and Sabine Lindor Hilaire. Her Son in Law, David Duplessy.

Though we mourn her passing, we take comfort in knowing that her love, strength, faith, and traditions will continue to guide us. The memories she created, the lessons she taught, and the love she shared will remain in our hearts forever.

Thank you, Gro ManMan Andree, for every sacrifice, every prayer, every meal, every song, every celebration, and every act of love.
