Ann Flynn, 78, of North Quincy, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 16, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Brian Flynn, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage.
Ann was the loving mother of Jennifer Kelly and her husband, Paul, of Braintree; Stacy Reed and her husband, Wayne, of Weymouth; and Lisa Puglia and her husband, John, of Hanover. She was the cherished “Nana” to Brian, Brendan, Conor, Anna, Kate, Emma, Charlie, Matthew, Ava, Cameron, and Drew. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Flaherty) Desmarais and was predeceased by her siblings, Albert, Jean (Kiley), James, and Paul.
Family was everything to Ann. She was a devoted and hands-on mother who loved being involved in every aspect of her children’s lives—leading Girl Scout troops, organizing carpools, and always showing up whenever she was needed. After raising her three daughters, Ann pursued her lifelong passion for education by enrolling at UMass Boston, where she excelled academically, making the Dean’s List every semester and graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.
Ann devoted 20 years to teaching fifth grade at St. Agatha’s School in Milton, where she found great joy in nurturing her students’ growth in both academics and faith. In retirement, she treasured time spent with her husband, family, and friends, and especially enjoyed the companionship of her beloved “Gus, the beagle dog.”
A natural caretaker, Ann was happiest when helping others. She was a truly selfless person who would do anything for those she loved. Ann’s legacy of love, faith, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday January 21, 2026 from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home on Thursday, January 22 at 11:15am prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, North Quincy at 12. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ann may be made to St. Agatha’s School, 440 Adams Street, Milton, MA 02186.
