Ann (Florence) McDermott
Ann Rose McDermott, beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully on June 4th, 2026. Born, August 20,1952, she was the daughter of the late Lillian (Ware) Florence and Arnold Florence. Ann was a longtime resident of Quincy, MA, where she built a life with love, family and faith. Ann is survived by her devoted children, Brian McDermott and Melissa McDermott who were truly the center of her world. She also leaves behind her cherished niece, Dawn Florence, whom she loved like a daughter as well as many great nieces and great nephews. She is survived by her sisters, Ethel Manning of Feeding Hills MA, and Roseann (William) Tilton of Pawtucket, RI. In addition to her parents Ann was predeceased by her brother Arnold Florence Jr. Ann found joy in life’s simple pleasures such as reading the bible, working on crosswords puzzles and playing scratch offs. She loved watching her favorite shows wheel of fortune and the Andy Griffith show which never failed to bring her comfort and laughter. Ann’s kindness, humor, and unwavering devotion to her family will never be forgotten. Her children take great comfort knowing that Ann can walk joyfully in heaven and is no longer in pain. Ann will be watching over her family showering them with love and care.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 from 9-11:30 am in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. Followed by a Celebration of Life Service on Wednesday, June 10th at 11:30 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
