Ann (MacKenzie) Trudeau passed away surrounded by her loving family on June 2, 2026. She was 87. Born on April 22, 1939, at Quincy City Hospital to Roberta Sutherland MacKenzie and John James MacKenzie. She graduated from North Quincy High School, Class of 1956, and later attended and graduated from the Chandler School for Women in 1957.
Ann married Edward L. Trudeau in Coral Gables, Florida in 1958. The couple made their home in Miami until 1962, when Ed was transferred by Eastern Airlines to Logan Airport in Boston. They settled in Quincy, where Ann became an active member of the Wollaston Woman’s Club Juniors. She eventually served as President and later as Second District Representative of the Massachusetts Federation of Women’s Clubs. Ann often credited those years with giving her the confidence to speak and present in public forums.
Through Ed’s work in the airline industry, Ann and Ed enjoyed traveling to many countries during their younger years.
Ann was a devoted member of several churches throughout her life. She belonged to Quincy United Methodist Church, Weymouth United Methodist Church, where she served as Treasurer of the Trustees. She was also a dedicated member of Old South Union Congregational Church for 40 plus years, serving on numerous committees. Music was always an important part of Ann’s life, and in every church she attended, she sang in the choir.
Over the years, Ann held many jobs, but one of her most rewarding experiences was working for the Jimmy Fund at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, the primary charity of the Boston Red Sox. She especially enjoyed meeting many of the Red Sox players when they visited the Children’s Cancer Research Hospital for publicity events.
Ann and Ed raised their family in East Weymouth and later spent 25 years as snowbirds in West Palm Beach, where they formed many cherished friendships.
In 2016, Ann moved to Fairing Way, an independent living community in Weymouth, where she once again built lasting friendships and continued her love of music by singing in the community chorus.
Ann was the beloved mother of three sons, Donald (wife Janet) of Weymouth, Douglas (wife Kim) of Jamaica Plain, and Dale (wife Kate) of Weymouth, and one daughter, Tracy Baker (husband John) of Weymouth. She was the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren Stephen, Donald, Ashley, Jeffrey, Tyler, Daniel, Jack, Luke, Ben, Joshua, Brooke, and Teddy, and the loving great-grandmother of five great grandchildren. She is survived by many nieces and nephews who she adored. Her brothers John (Sonny) and Donald MacKenzie preceded her in death.
Ann will be remembered for her warmth, friendship, love of music, dedication to family and community, and the joy she brought to all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 4 -7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Route 18, opposite of South Shore Hospital).
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Old South Union Congregational Church at 12 Noon on Monday, June 8, 2026
Services will conclude with interment in Fairmount Cemetery, Weymouth, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann’s name may be made to the Jimmy Fund, 1309 Beacon Street, Brookline, MA 02446.
