Ann “Nancy” White (Bevans), age 90, of Quincy Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home, on July 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Nancy was the beloved daughter of the late Kathryn and George Bevans. One of five children, she was survived by her dear sister Barbara Redmond and predeceased by her siblings Joan Wittreich, Robert Bevans and Judith Malarkey.

Born in Dorchester, she was raised in Saint Margaret's Parish and was a proud 1952 graduate of Monsignor Ryan Memorial High School. After graduating, Nancy was employed by the Boston Gas Company where she met the “gas house girls” who would become lifelong friends.

In October of 1955, Nancy married the love of her life, Richard White. Their journey together began in Dorchester, where they started their family. Eventually settling in Quincy, they raised their eight children in the “Wollaston White House”.

They became active members of St. Ann Parish, volunteering their time with religious education, parish council, parish ministry and enjoying many social events. Saint Ann Parish became an integral part of their lives and served as the basis for Nancy’s lifelong vocation in Religious Ed. She would continue to share her deep faith with countless children and young adults as the Director of Religious Education. Nancy’s career spanned many decades until her retirement in 2015. She was humbled and honored to receive the Cheverus Award from the Archdiocese of Boston in 2013 in recognition for her service to the church.

Nancy's dedication to her faith and her love of the bible was genuine. She believed strongly in the power of prayer. She looked forward to going to daily mass when she was able and enjoyed attending her Monday night bible study group.

Nancy’s happiest moments were the time spent in the company of family and close friends. She enjoyed cooking for crowds - hosting elaborate dinner parties, family holidays and casual cookouts. She took pride in her beautifully decorated home and her vibrant gardens. She never turned down an invitation for a night out or a cosmo with a good friend. Those simple moments of laughter, conversation and togetherness brought her so much joy.

She adored sharing stories with her children and grandchildren; whether it be recounting her world travels or childhood adventures. Her recalling of detailed, “movie-like” dreams always ended in contagious fits of laughter. Nancy’s quick witted sense of humor certainly kept people laughing.

After Dick’s passing in 2001, Nancy continued to be the heart of her family. Although not a day passed without her missing him, she displayed grace, resilience and strength. She was such an example to all with her overflowing love, warmth, ability to forgive and acceptance of everyone.

Loving mother of the late Joseph White (infant), Mary White (Paul Grealy), Paul White (Jo-Ann), Tracy Pickering (John) and Jennifer McGrail (Chuck) all of Quincy, Thomas White (Kim) of Winchendon, Kathryn McLaughlin (Mark) of Milton, Dennis White of Dorchester, and Judith Letteney (Victor) of Braintree.

Cherished Nana to Laurie Bryan (Patrick), Joseph Flynn (John), Christopher Burke (Abby), the late Patrick White, Kathryn (A.J.) and Meghan White, Shane and Griffin McLaughlin, Owen and Thomas Letteney, Jack and Grace Pickering, Charlie, Collin and Caroline McGrail, and Finlay White.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday, July 24, 2026 from 4-8PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 AM on Saturday, July 25, 2026 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM.
