Anna L. Saltmarsh

Anna L. (Wielhouwer) Saltmarsh, of Weymouth, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, at the age of 90.

Anna lived a life centered around family, simple joys, and deep devotion to the people she loved. She cherished time spent with her family above all else—whether that meant summers in Saratoga, lively games of bingo, impromptu rides to Foxwoods, or unforgettable trips to Las Vegas. She had a soft spot for Elvis, enjoyed watching sports, and loved poker nights with her husband Joe, sister Agnes, and brother-in-law Joe Kennedy.

For more than 20 years, Anna worked as a bookkeeper at Chair Fair in Weymouth Landing, later continuing her career in the fixed assets department at Stop & Shop headquarters in Quincy. She took great pride in her work and truly loved what she did.

Anna was the beloved wife of the late Leonard F. “Joe” Saltmarsh. They shared 56 wonderful years of marriage, building a family rooted in love, loyalty, and strength.

She was the loving mother of Margaret “Peggy” Petrucci of Hanover, Gary Saltmarsh and his wife, Carol, and Leonard "Lenny" Saltmarsh and his wife, Cindy, all of Weymouth.

Anna was predeceased by her siblings Peter Wielhouwer, Johan Wielhouwer, and Agnes Kennedy. She is survived by her sister-in-law Jane of Michigan.

She was the cherished Grandma to Jason, Maria, Jillian, Drew, and Grace, and the adored Great-Grandma of Brianna, Phoenix, Evelyn, and Owen. Nothing brought her more joy than watching her family grow—each new child another blessing that filled her heart.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during visiting hours on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 4–7 PM at the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home, South Weymouth, 809 Main Street (Rte. 18 opposite South Shore Hospital).

A funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery, Weymouth.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Queen Anne Nursing Home Activity Department, 50 Recreation Park Drive, Hingham, MA 02043, in gratitude for their care and kindness.
