Anne I. Burns

Anne I. (Johnstone) Burns, of Brockton, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on May 4, 2025. She was 81. Anne was born in Scotland to the late George and Annie Mae (Nunn) Johnstone. Anne lived a fulfilling life. She worked for Johnson & Johnson for 25 years. Highlighted by being one of a few who were selected and sent to Switzerland in preparation of the opening of their Lucerne facility. This honor was hers not once but twice.

In 1996 her many years of hard work would pay off when she was able to buy a house on her own. There she would spend her days knitting, hosting holidays and even a few family reunions. She was extremely proud of being a home owner, an accomplishment she never would have believed possible at an earlier age.

After retiring she enjoyed traveling. Making several trips across the pond to see family in England. Where she would stay with her beloved brother the late Tony Nunn, his wife Barbara and their family. Her times in England with them were some of the most special and memorable moments of her life.

Anne's role as caretaker seemed endless. A special role she undertook without question. When any family member would find themselves in a time of need, she would be there. To either take them in, provide support or just let them know she was there and they weren't ever alone. It seemed there was always a new face around the house growing up with her. She did these things humbly, and rarely spoke of them. And never ever asked or expected anything in return.

Anne was the proud mother of two children, her daughter Wendy Marks of Brockton and her son Scott Burns and his wife Anne of Braintree. Her proudest and most treasured role would be as grandmother to her "Sunshine" Ava Burns.

She leaves behind her sister Phyllis Lembo and her husband Bub of New Hampshire. Her brother Allen Johnstone and his wife Ann of New Hampshire. And her sister Doreen Blair and her husband Punkin of Illinois. She is predeceased by her brothers Tony Nunn and George Johnstone and sisters Margaret Wayshville and Pauline Dangora.

She is also survived by many neices and nephews.
