Listen to Obituary

Anne (d’Entremont) d’Entremont, 93, of Braintree, transitioned peacefully on June 26, 2026.

Her family is comforted imagining her with Herb, her husband and favorite dance partner, waltzing in the afterlife.

One of six children, Anne grew up in East Boston. A graduate of East Boston High School, she used to speak fondly of her teenage years with the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO). Anne moved to Braintree in 1966 and became active in the St. Thomas More prayer community. Over the years she was a regular at daily mass, and was a member of STM’s Sodality, Couple’s Club, and the Damascus Retreat. A gifted reader, she became a lector. Later in life, Anne was put in charge of training new lectors and scheduling readers for weekend masses.

Although she was brought up as a city girl, Anne volunteered to be a Girl Scout leader which unbeknownst to her, involved primitive camping (a first for Anne). She embraced the new experience and was mostly successful except for the incident her family fondly calls “the latrine debacle of the early 70’s.” If you ask her children, they’ll explain.

Anne worked at South Shore Center for Brain Injured Children, an uplifting, joyful place to work despite its scary name. Music, liturgical and otherwise, was a huge part of her life. She often attended concerts at South Shore Conservatory and enjoyed Braintree Choral Society holiday and spring concerts. She hosted weekly Monday night dinners at her house for her kids and grandkids until COVID hit.

Having “cousins by the dozens” living in Pubnico, Nova Scotia, Anne vacationed in this seaside village every summer with her husband, often accompanied by their closest friends, Jackie and Bill Monahan. For more than 30 years, Anne and her dear friend Cookie Graziano coordinated the preparation, transportation, and serving of a monthly Shepherd’s Pie meal for the women’s section of Pine Street Inn.

Until a few years ago, nieces and nephews could count on receiving a humorous card from “Auntie Anne” on their birthdays. When they stopped arriving, they knew sometime was amiss. Anne lived with Alzheimer’s for the last seven years.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Anne’s name to Pine Street Inn or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 6/29/2026 from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home EAST WEYMOUTH at 3 Charles Street (corner of Charles & Middle Street).
