Anthony Americo 'Tony' Papagno of Marshfield died September 21st, 2025 at the age of 92.
He leaves behind his two daughters, Monica Freeman (and David Frank) of Plymouth and Erica Clark of Centerville. Grand Dad of Emma White (husband Jack) and Aidan Freeman. He was a beloved son of the late Matteo and Anna Papagno of Quincy; devoted brother of Matteo Papagno (wife Julia), Victor R. Pagagno (wife Ann), Anna Elrick (husband Dick), the late Sebastian Papagno, Raymond Papagno, Raffealla 'Pearl' Papagno, Connie Parks and Maria Spagnoletti. Tony also leaves behind his girlfriend Anne Campbell of Hingham with love and many sweet memories. He was also fondly known as Uncle T by many nieces and nephews.
Tony was a graduate of Quincy Trade High School and had a Certificate in Vocational Training in Sheet Metal from MIT. He was a former Marine and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Tony worked for the state of Massachusetts for over 30 years as a sheet metal teacher for Norfolk, Walpole and Framingham prisons. He gave an additional 10 years to Grossmans as a facilities manager. In his post retirement years, Tony worked as a substitute teacher at SilverLake Middle and High schools. His final years were spent at The Inn at Wingate SilverLake where many of the staff enjoyed his company and humor. Many of the younger staff remember him as their teacher as well, which he loved.
He will always be remembered for his plentiful garden and beautiful sunflowers. He loved tending to the beautification of the Marshfield Green harbor area in his later years.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday 9/30/2025 from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Funeral Mass will be Wednesday 10/1/2025 in St. Joseph’s Church, Quincy at 10 AM. Burial in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
