Antonio (Tony) Politano 84 of Quincy, MA peacefully passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026

surrounded by his family.

Born in Calabria, Italy on June 14, 1942, he was the devoted son of the late Vito and Maria (Truglia)

Politano.

Beloved husband of Josephine (Bramante) Politano of Quincy, MA. Dear father of Maria Scammell and

her husband Geoff of Weymouth, MA. Arlena O’Connor and her husband John of Quincy, MA. Loving

Nanno of Victoria, Rebecca (Mike), Douglas, Cara and Johnny.

Devoted brother of Maria Fulciniti of Arlington, MA, Vittorio Politano of Medford, MA, and Malia

DellaRocca of Natick, MA.

He is also survived by many cherished brother-and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and

dear friends.

Predeceased by sister Rosina Gratta, brother Felice Politano, sister Giulia Gratta, brother Francesco

Politano, sister Candida Barbuto, nephew, Bobby Barbuto, niece Cristina Barbuto and godson, Steven

Della Rocca.

Tony immigrated to America as a young man following his brothers and sisters with the hopes and

dreams of creating a better life.

His determination to be successful led him on several paths in his lifetime. When he first arrived in

Massachusetts he utilized his skill in barbering to run a successful shop in West Roxbury. He later

partnered with his brothers and prospered in the field of construction. This expertise allowed him to be

equally accomplished in real estate ownership and property management. It was through these means he

was able to enjoy an early retirement.

Tony met Josephine in his early years in Massachusetts. They later married and had two daughters which

they raised in the City of Quincy, MA. He called Quincy home for almost sixty years. While he loved living

in Quincy, he equally loved his homeland, and returned to Italy often. He was proud of his Italian heritage

and passed that spirit to his children and grandchildren.

Tony was generous, hardworking, tenacious and had an innate ability to overcome various obstacles in

his life. He was quick witted, funny and maintained a youthful zest for life.

He will be greatly missed and will remain in our hearts forever.

Visiting hours will be held at Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA, Wednesday,

September 9, 2026 from 4-7pm. His funeral mass will be celebrated at Most Blessed Sacrament Church,

1015 Sea Street, Houghs Neck on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at 10:30 am. Relatives and friends are

respectfully invited to attend. Burial will conclude at Pine Hills Cemetery, 815 Willard Street, Quincy, MA.
