Arthur L. LeMay, 86, of Kingston, MA passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025, at Newbridge on the Charles Center in Dedham, MA surrounded by friends and family. He was a loving husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather, great-grandfather and a dear friend to anyone who crossed his path.
Born in Somerville in 1939, Arthur proudly served in the United States Navy on the USS WASP before completing his degree at Northeastern University. He and Joyce were married in August of 1963. He lived a life filled with love, laughter, and kindness. He was known for deep compassion, sense of humor, and his unwavering generosity.
Arthur worked in technical sales for his entire career, where he was respected for his dedication and work ethic. He approached every task with diligence and integrity. Leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of working with him.
In his free time, Arthur enjoyed skiing, woodworking, gardening, painting, cooking, beekeeping, and many other hobbies. He also enjoyed finding solace and joy in the simple moments with his family and friends. He was a member of the National Ski Patrol, a member and former coach in the 55+, and ran the 65+ South Shore Senior Softball League and started Harbor Hoops 65+ basketball program and had been a volunteer for the winter Special Olympics.
He is survived by his wife Joyce and children Robin (Richard Whitney), Colleen, Richard (Michelle) and David, family dog Duke, and grandchildren Kelsey (Jon) Whitaker, Tucker (Alexis) Martin, seven great-grandchildren Brooke, James, Adelaide, Margaret, Jonathan, Jr., Charlotte, Henry, his sister Grace (the late Bruno) Roepcke, brother Ronald(Geri) LeMay and cousins, nieces and nephews and all his many beloved friends . He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Dorothy LeMay.
He touched the lives of many and will be remembered fondly for his kindness, compassion, and gentle spirit. Arthur may have left this world, but his love and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A wake will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 2-6 PM, at the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald Street, Hingham, MA. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul’s Church at 147 North Street, Hingham, MA on Monday, October 20, 2025 at 10 AM, followed by reception immediately after church services. Arthur will be buried with Joyce at a later date at the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
