Barbara Ann Sealund (Cook), a lifelong resident of Quincy, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026. She was 80.
She was born in Quincy to Rita M. (Burke) and Thomas W. Cook. After high school, Barbara graduated from Quincy College and went on to work for the city of Quincy. She worked for the Water, Auditors and Accessors Department. Her time serving the city of Quincy was a great source of pride for her. In her over 25 years working for the city, Barbara made many lasting friendships. Barbara was strong willed, hardworking and an amazing person. She was what you’d hope for in a colleague, and everything you could ask for in a friend.
Barbara’s spare time was spent with her cherished family. Saturdays were her special day with Carol, reserved for shopping and lunch. Tuesday’s she’d often get lunch with her grandson Brian. She also enjoyed taking her “parttime dog”, her son Rob’s dog, Nick, on walks. Barabra’s loyalty, love and care had no end when it came to her family. She was always there offering the best of care.
Beloved wife of 37 years to Robert “Bob” Sealund. Devoted mother to Carol McCabe and her husband Gerald of Canton, and Rob Thomas and his wife Luisa of Milton. Cherished Grammie to Brian and Jeremy McCabe and Andrew and Adam Thomas. Loving sister to Mary Jane Solimini of Weymouth and the late Rita Cyr and Thomas Cook.
