Betty Ann Ellis

Ellis, Betty Ann (Gourley) of Quincy, died at home December 30, 2024. 

Betty adored her family and spending time together. She enjoyed gardening, photography, knitting, counted cross stitching, and basket weaving. She loved traveling to Elderhostel/Road Scholar educational programs in New England. She worked for a bank before starting her family and later was part owner of The Village Nook in Wollaston. Betty was a Deacon and taught Sunday School at the First Church of Squantum. She was a long-time member of the Seaside Gardeners of Squantum and served as their treasurer for many years. Betty also belonged to the South Shore Camera Club. She was a kind, loving, and caring woman who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

Cherished daughter of the late Chester and Marjorie Gourley. Wife of the late Norman “Bud” Ellis. Loving mother of Peter Ellis and his partner Miriam Kiesel of Quincy, Nancy Hansen and her husband Einar of North Quincy, and the late Robert Ellis. Loving mother in law of Lorry Ellis. Devoted Gramma Betty to Sarah and Kimberly Ellis and Great Gramma Betty to Milo and Maia Ellis Escobar.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Friday 1/3/2025 from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Funeral home service will be celebrated on Saturday 1/4/2025 at 10 AM in Keohane Funeral Home, Quincy. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284.
