Blaney, Carmen G. (Landry) of North Weymouth, died on May 30, 2014, after a long illness.
Born on May 3, 1919 in Belmont to Jules F. and Mary E. (Garrity) Landry, Carmen lived in North Weymouth for more than fifty years. Carmen graduated from North Quincy High School and spent much of her life caring for others. She was a Nursing Aide at Quincy Hospital and spent more than 25 years as a personal care assistant for a beloved Quincy woman. She spent free time knitting and crocheting for the folks at Father Joe’s Homeless shelter, for babies at South Shore Hospital, and to benefit folks at the South Shore ARC. Carmen’s joys included her family, friends, neighbors, the ocean, sports especially the Red Sox, and baking for her family and wonderful North Weymouth neighbors.
Wife of the late Roger Hurlburt and Arthur Blaney. Mother of Terry Landry of Menifee, CA and Ken Hurlburt and his wife, Mary, of Upton. Sister of Charles Landry of Florida, and the late Jack, Kenneth, Alfred Landry, and Alice Lutman. Grandmother of Dee Cunningham and her husband, Tom, of North Weymouth and San Diego, CA, and Adam Hurlburt and his partner, Samantha Jonson of Silver Spring, MD. Great grandmother of Michael Cunningham and his wife, Amanda, Ryan Cunningham and his wife, Michelle all of CA. Also survived by 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visitation on Saturday from 10-11 AM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital), followed by her funeral service at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, Weymouth.
Carmen’s family expresses deep gratitude to the staff of Saint Camillus in Whitinsville, MA for the loving care they extended towards Carmen these last months.
