Carol Doolan of Abington, a longtime resident of Quincy for 48 years, passed away surrounded by her family at home, on March 25, leaving behind a legacy defined by devotion, warmth, and a life richly lived in service to others. Carol spent many years working in her community at the Winfield Coffee Shop later known as The Egg and I, and Dunkin’ Donuts, where her friendly spirit and welcoming smile touched countless lives. Whether serving a cup of coffee or sharing a kind word, she made people feel at home.
Carol, wife of the late Edward Doolan, with whom she shared a life grounded in love, partnership, and family. She was the cherished daughter of the late Fredrick and Bertha (Lebonte) Miller. Carol was a dear sister to Joyce Rogers and the late Fredrick Miller, Margaret Banks (Miller), and Richard Miller.
Above all, Carol was a dedicated and loving mother to Kathy Henkle, her husband Tom of New Hampshire, Karen Doolan of Whitman, and Christine Flynn (Doolan-Nelson) of Abington, who carry forward her strength, kindness and unwavering care. Carol was affectionately known as “Nan” by all—whether you were a relative or a friend of her grandchildren, she was “Nan” to everyone who had the joy of knowing her. She was a proud and deeply involved “Nan” to Dr.Paul Doolan, his wife Dr. Andrea Arruda, Tabitha Doolan, Caitlyn Leear, her husband Tim, Michael Nelson, his fiance Haley Dutton, Alex Holness, Robin Dearborn, her husband Dave, Sarah Cammarano, and her husband Zack, Connor Flynn, his wife Summer Bottini, Freddy Flynn, his wife Michelle, and Savannah Flynn, and a joyful great-grandmother to Sawyer and Remington Doolan, Gabriella Anglehart, Kendall Leear, Adrian and Moira Dearborn, and Cole Cammarano. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly. Her family was her greatest pride, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
A true family person, Carol dedicated much of her life caring for and nurturing her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She found her greatest joy in their happiness and milestones, always offering love, support, and encouragement.
Carol will be remembered for her generous heart, her quiet strength, chocolate chip cookies, potato salad, and her deep love for her family. Her presence will be profoundly missed, but her legacy will live on in the lives she touched and the family she so dearly loved.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY.
