Carol Ann (Williams) Lincoln of Hull, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Saturday, February 21, 2026. She was 85.
She was born in Springfield, MA, to Rita (Dowd) and Harold Williams. Carol was raised in Springfield and graduated from Cathedral High School. She went on to earn her nursing certificate from Massachusetts General Hospital, where fate intervened during her bus commute. It was there she met Richard (Dick) Lincoln, who was stationed at Hanscom Air Force Base at the time and was immediately taken with her. He courted her with devotion, and the two shared a deep and lasting connection. They were married in 1961, built a loving family with five children, and remained inseparable for 54 wonderful years.
Carol spent much of her distinguished nursing career at Massachusetts Respiratory Hospital, where her dedication and leadership led her to become manager of her department. She then opened up and ran the hospital’s Home Care agency. She later continued her work at Norwell Knoll Nursing Home as a supervising nurse. Over a remarkable 50-year career, Carol cared for thousands of patients with dignity, compassion, and unwavering professionalism before retiring.
Carol was known not only for the exceptional care she gave her patients, but also for the steady presence she offered to anyone who needed her. She had a rare gift for truly listening, with patience and empathy, without judgment. Friends, family, colleagues, and even new acquaintances found themselves opening up to her with ease. She made people feel safe, understood, and valued. Thoughtful and wise, she shared her guidance in a gentle, sincere way, and her advice, always rooted in kindness and practical wisdom, brought comfort, clarity, and reassurance to everyone fortunate enough to sit and talk with her.
Above all else, Carol’s greatest joy was caring for her family. She lovingly crafted handmade gifts and knitted blankets for her children and grandchildren, each stitch a reflection of her warmth and devotion. In her quieter moments, she was an avid reader who cherished time spent with a good book, as well as time to puzzle, which always brought enjoyment. Carol will be remembered as caring, genuine, honest, and deeply faithful, a woman whose life was defined by service, love, and steadfast devotion to those around her.
Beloved wife of the late Richard Lincoln for 54 years. Devoted mother to Lorraine L. Campbell and her husband Michael of Hingham, Philip E. Lincoln of Weymouth and his former wife Carol Lincoln of Rockland, Richard H. Lincoln and his wife Karen of Hull, Christopher M. Lincoln and his wife Kathryn of Hull, and Karen L.
