Carol Ann Yacobucci (Young), of Hull, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on May 14, 2026. Born in Winchester, Massachusetts, Carol built a life centered around love, family, and caring for others. After graduating from Winchester High School, she went on to earn a degree from Katharine Gibbs School. Following graduation, Carol began her career at Tracerlab before later becoming the owner of The Soapy Dog, where she combined her love of animals with a business she took great pride in.

Carol was predeceased by her beloved husband of more than 40 years, James Yacobucci; her brother, William Young; and her loving parents, Mildred Young (Branch) and Edwin Young. Carol and Jim shared a beautiful life together filled with dinners out, traveling, and creating memories with family. She loved him deeply and is now reunited with the love of her life.

Carol loved family dinners, traveling, and watching Blue Bloods, and above all else, being surrounded by the people she loved. She was generous, caring, and loving. She was truly a mother to everyone she knew, always ready to help someone, offer support, or make others feel like family.

Her family was her greatest pride and joy, and nothing brought Carol more happiness than being surrounded by those she loved. To her grandchildren, she was lovingly known as “Nan,” a role she treasured deeply. She found her greatest joy in caring for her family and spending time with the people who meant the most to her.

Carol is survived by her devoted daughters, Alicia Barbuto and her husband Anthony of Charleston, South Carolina, and Kristin Smith and her husband Joseph Smith of Hull, Massachusetts. She was an incredibly proud grandmother to Olivia, Addison, Jonah, Finnian, and Rowan, who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her best friend of more than 60 years, Joan Schopperle; her special nieces and nephew, Elizabeth Snyder, Jennifer Ohlson, and Matthew Snyder; many beloved nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly; and her beloved grand dog, Beau, who adored her and will miss her deeply.

The Funeral Mass will be held on 6/13/2026 in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 10 AM. Burial will be private. See www.Keohane.com for directions and online condolences.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carol’s memory to your local animal shelter, keeping her love of animals alive through helping those still in need.

And because no tribute to Carol would be complete without it, those who knew Carol will smile remembering her long history with broken wine glasses. Her family can only hope heaven has plenty on hand.
