Caroline Mary (Reynolds) Cevolani, 43, of Weymouth, Mass., passed away peacefully on Friday, May 8, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. After a childhood spent in New Hartford, Conn., and Merrimac, Mass., Caroline made her home in Weymouth, where she built a life centered on family, friendship, faith, and love.
Caroline was the beloved wife of Dave Cevolani and devoted mother to her sons, Mark and Peter, whom she loved more than anything in the world. She is also survived by her loving mother, Marcia Reynolds of Melrose; her sister, Kacey Blevins and her husband Alan of Melrose; her brothers, Michael Reynolds of Malden and John Reynolds of Reading; and her cherished nephew and niece, Patrick and Meryl Stratford of Melrose. She was predeceased by her father, Mark Reynolds.
She will be remembered for her strength, her deep devotion to the people she loved, and her incredibly sharp wit. Caroline had a natural charm that came from her innate kindness and generosity, quickly enamoring her to everyone she met. In addition to her family, Caroline treasured the lifelong friendships she formed during her years at Holy Cross, making friends who became family. Those friends, especially Brigid, Caitlin, Dara, Nicole, and Sarah, remained a constant source of joy and support throughout her life.
Caroline graduated from St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights, Ill. She followed in her father’s footsteps, attending the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass., from which she earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy in 2004. She also earned a master’s in urban planning from Ball State University Muncie, Ind. Caroline worked in the legal sector, spending several years at Cetrulo LLP in Boston, and later at KSPR Law in Providence. She loved Holy Cross, truly embodying the Jesuit ethos of a “woman for others,” and spent countless hours volunteering as a class chair, leading fundraising efforts to make a Holy Cross education accessible to all deserving students.
Caroline was a force of nature from the start — full of energy, hilariously funny, and wise beyond her years. She was the constant companion of her big brother and lifelong best friend, Michael, and spent her childhood riding bikes, catching frogs, and playing soccer.
A gifted athlete, Caroline parlayed her soccer skills into a successful four years as a rugby player at Holy Cross, also serving as the club’s match secretary and president. Her many HCWRFC teammates remember her as an exceptional rugby player, leader, and true friend on and off the pitch. Naturally, she met her beloved husband, Dave, on the golf course with friends, a sport they both loved. She was the best gift giver of all time, always finding the most perfect gifts for everyone she loved - no occasion necessary. She was known to send greeting cards “just because,” and many of her friends and family can attest to having a drawer of these Caroline Cards.
Her true joy in life was being a mother to her cherished sons, Mark and Peter, and wife to her husband, Dave. Caroline’s kindness, courage, and unwavering love for her family and friends will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who loved her.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 5/18/2026 from 3-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday 5/19/2026 in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 AM.
