Claire A. (Fitzgerald) Adams, 90, of Braintree, MA, peacefully entered eternal life surrounded by multiple generations of her loving family who adored her, on June 4, 2026.
Born on November 27, 1935 to John Fitzgerald, from County Kerry and Margaret (Norton) Fitzgerald from County Galway, and lived in Dorchester, MA. She attended St. Peter's School in Dorchester and Cardinal Cushing High School in South Boston.
She married the love of her life, Edward W. Adams in 1955 and moved to Braintree in 1968 with her 5 children (and #6 on the way). She became a widow in 1993 after many years of devoted care for her husband after an Industrial Accident at work in 1970.
Claire was a devout Catholic and lived the Gospel in her daily life and she really loved everyone! She was a communicant at Sacred Heart Church in Weymouth and St. Thomas More Church in Braintree.
Claire was a Certified Nurses Aide at Elihu White Nursing Home, and an operator at South Shore Answering Service in Weymouth. She also spent many years at The Patriot Ledger Newspaper as a Customer Service Representative where she enjoyed meeting many great friends.
Claire is survived by her children: Edward W. Adams, Jr. (Christine) of Quincy, Donna Marks (Robert) of Braintree, Claire Tyler (Joseph) of Plympton, Jerry Adams (Paula) of E. Bridgewater, Neil Adams (Tammy) of Marshfield, and John F. Adams of Woodacre, CA
Grandchildren: Dr. Edward W Adams III, Jackie Houde, Kellie Marks, Valerie Cole, Brendan Marks, Stephanie Laing, Joseph Tyler, Jr., Lindsey Tyler, Christine Astuto, Cali Adams, Brooke Adams, Alexa Adams, Ava Adams, and Matthew Fay. Predeceased by grandson Robert G. Marks Jr.
Great Grandchildren: Tyler, Makenzie, and Dylan Derochea, Kamryn and Thomas Laing, Lucas and Travis Astuto, Isla, Norah and Jason Cole, Lila Houde, and Miles Marks, and brother Maxwell appearing any day now!
Also survived by her siblings Joan Onorato, Mary Onorato, and Thomas Fitzgerald, and sister-in-laws Ann "Nancy" Cawley and Judy Adams, as well as many cousins, neices, nephews, and friends.
Predeceased by her parents and siblings, Barbara McKeon, Sonny, Arlene, Carol, Kevin and John Fitzgerald and Niece Peggy Onorato, her loving Godchild.
Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, 4-7pm at the MacDonald Keohane Funeral Home, 809 Main Street South Weymouth, MA
Funeral Mass on Friday, June 12, 2026 at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Church in Weymouth, 55 Commercial Street Weymouth, MA
Burial at Braintree Cemetery, 225 Plain Street, Braintree
