Clifford Henry Hallett Jr., of Weymouth, formerly a 60 year resident of Hough’s Neck in Quincy, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025, at the age of 92 at Southwood Nursing home. Raised in Wollaston, Cliff was a 1951 graduate of Quincy High School. Cliff held many jobs over the years, most notably working as an electrician for the U.S. Naval Reserves at NAS Weymouth, Duran’s Candy Factory, and for over 50 years, running his own business—Hallett Electrical Service. A true lover of music, Clifford and Carol could often be found enjoying free concerts and coffeehouses together and visiting yard sales. His sweet tooth was legendary—especially when cookies and a cup of tea were involved. He and Carol enjoyed vacationing in and around New England and several trips to Jamaica. He treasured time spent visiting friends and relatives and never passed up the chance for a good conversation. Cliff and Carol enjoyed time with their grandkids often taking them for day trips and sleepovers. Clifford gave selflessly to the Hough’s Neck Congregational Church, where he devoted countless hours helping maintain the church building and supporting its mission.
The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at the Southwood Nursing Home, Norwell for their loving care over the several years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Carol (Jones) Hallett; his daughter Carrie (Hallett) MacLean and her husband Jeffrey of Weymouth; his son Chad Hallett and his wife Jennifer of Pembroke; his cherished grandchildren Ian MacLean of Weymouth, Sean MacLean and his fiancée Angelica Pacombe of Easton, and Laura Hallett of Dorchester and a niece, Debby Hardman and her husband Bob of Florida. A wake will be held at the Houghs Neck Congregational Church, 310 Manet Avenue, Quincy on Sunday, May 4, 2025, 2-5 PM and a funeral service on Monday, May 5 at 10:00 AM at the Hough’s Neck Congregational Church. The burial will be at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cliff’s memory to Houghs Neck Congregational Church 310 Manet Ave, Quincy, MA 02169.
