David Jude Cardoza, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on September 25, 2026, at the age of 68, just one day shy of his 69th birthday. Dave was home recovering a long and courageous battle with health challenges, most recently several strokes.

Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, Dave carried with him a deep love of family, a gift for making people laugh, an incredible mechanical ability, and an unmistakable love for Classic Rock.

Dave was a man who knew how to enjoy life and, more importantly, how to bring others along with him. He was a familiar and welcomed face at community gatherings, Battle of the Bands, karaoke nights, meat raffles, motorcycle runs, and countless other events—whether they were simply for fun or held to support a good cause. He gave generously of his time, his resources, and most of all, his friendship. He had an amazing voice and loved being on stage. One of his most requested songs was “Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad,” a song that won him singing contests.Music was always a part of Dave’s life.

Dave’s mechanical talents were legendary among those who knew him. An awesome Harley mechanic, he loved riding his Harley Low Rider and, after working for other shop owners, eventually opened his own Harley business in Weymouth. He was also the person to call when a computer wasn't working. Dave was, in every sense, a computer geek who seemed to be able to fix almost anything.

His favorite places to vacation were the two places that held special meaning for him: PEI and Maui. Whether riding his motorcycle, traveling, working on something mechanical, enjoying music, or simply spending time with the people he loved, Dave found ways to make memories.

Over the last several years, Dave's health began to slow him down, and it was difficult for him to give up many of the activities and friendships that had been such an important part of his life. Even as his world became smaller, the love and friendships he had built over the years remained a meaningful part of his life.

Dave is survived by his beloved wife, Helen Cardoza; his children, Christina Cardoza, Scott Cardoza, and Jacqueline Cardoza; his grandson, Christopher Cardoza, all of Weymouth; and his sister, Kathleen LaFayette of Alabama.

He was preceeded in death by his parents, Paul and Lorraine Cardoza, and his brother Joseph Cardoza of Readville.

Dave will be remembered for his generous heart, quick wit, mechanical mind, love of music, Harley Davidson, Classic Rock and by the people he called his friends and family. His stories will continue to be told for years to come.

And whenever “Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad” plays, there will be a little more reason to smile—and remember Dave.
