Dayvon Allen Jones of West Palm Beach, formerly of Quincy, passed away suddenly on Thursday, March 27, 2025. He was 27 years old.
He was born in Boston to Lori Valentine and Deron Jones and raised in Quincy. He graduated from North Quincy High School, Class of 2015. There he excelled at football. Shortly after graduating, Dayvon enlisted in the Army and served for 4 years, achieving the rank of a Specialist and was an expert marksman. After serving, Dayvon worked with the Local 327 Carpenters and attended Bunker Hill Community college before pursuing his degree in accounting at the Florida Atlantic University, where he was a full-time student.
In his spare time, exercise was important to Dayvon. He could often be found at the gym or playing a pickup basketball game. He also frequented the firing range. Dayvon’s favorite times were time spent with his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He was an amazing uncle that had perfected the delicate balance of support, stability and playfulness. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Cherished son of Lori Valentine and Deron Jones Sr., both of Roxbury. Dayvon was the beloved grandson of Beatrice Jones, the late Charles Jones, the late Charles Croxen and the late Linda (Valentine) Croxen. Loving brother to Deron Jones Jr. and his fiancée Samantha Sheehan, Amber Jones, Lakeisha Jones, Shaunaya Jones, Bianca Jones, DeEryn Jones, Julian Oniel, Tayla Bigby-Jones and the late Monique Brown. Adoring uncle to Isabella Sheehan, Daniel Sheehan, Mia Jones, Jeremiah Monteiro, Aniyah Wilmont, Amari Tia, Olani Ouk, Julius Oniel and Michael Oniel. Nephew of Darlene Desmond, Michael Gregg, Charlotte Croxen, Gregory Jones, Donna Bolden, Channa Izzo and the late Earnest Jones. Also survived by many cousins and close friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Thursday, April 10, 2025, from 4-7 PM at the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA. The Burial will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 12:30 PM at the MA National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Buzzards Bay, MA.
Family and close friends are invited to Dayvon’s Celebration of Life on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 2-5 PM at the Common Market Restaurants, 97 Willard Street, Quincy, MA.
