Dhimitri Panajoti, 76, of Quincy, Massachusetts, passed away on September 2, 2026, following a brief battle with cerebral amyloid angiopathy.

Dhimitri was born on July 27, 1950, in Albania. In 1996, he immigrated to the United States with his family, building a new life through hard work, determination, and an unwavering commitment to those he loved. A civil engineer by training, Dhimitri worked tirelessly throughout his life to provide for his family and to ensure that his children and grandchildren would have opportunities and security.

Above all else, Dhimitri was a family man. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 50 years, Persefoni Panajoti of Quincy, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and family.

He was the devoted father of Ira Lazic and her husband, Boris Lazic, and Mikel Panajoti and his wife, Sonela Panajoti. He was an exceptionally proud grandfather to his three beloved grandchildren, Helen Lazic, Matias Panajoti, and Nicholas Panajoti, who brought him tremendous joy.

Beneath his practical nature was a man with a wonderful sense of humor, a zest for life, and a deeply principled way of looking at the world. He believed in working hard, living responsibly, caring for one’s family, and standing firmly for what one believed was right. His wit, strong personality, and unmistakable presence made him someone his family will never forget.

Dhimitri is also survived by his siblings Ludmilla Gjini of Greece, Petraq Panajoti and Pellumbesha Popa of Albania, as well as his niece Marsela Gjini, of whom he was especially fond.

For Dhimitri, his wife, his children, and his grandchildren were everything. The life he built after coming to America was, in so many ways, built for them. His legacy will live on in the family he loved so fiercely, in the lessons he taught them, in the stories they will continue to tell, and in the laughter that will inevitably accompany memories of his humor and uniquely Dhimitri way of seeing the world.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, Quincy, Massachusetts 02170.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026 at the Quincy Pine Hill Cemetery. Everyone will meet at the Keohane Funeral Home at 11 AM, prior to departing for the cemetery.
