Pitts, Donald R. “Donny” of Quincy, died April 18, 2016.
Donny was most proud of his 30 year marriage to his late wife Carol. A United States Army Veteran, he served during the Vietnam Era. A heavy equipment operator, he was a longtime employee of the Quincy Department of Public Works. Donny was an avid Boston sports fan and enjoyed attending many games. He was also a fan of country/western music and enjoyed traveling. He was a past commander of the Nickerson Post in Squantum. Donny will always be remembered as being supportive and willing to help those in need.
Beloved husband of the late Carol (Savage) Pitts. Loving son of the late William H. Pitts, III and Lillian B. (Sheridan) Pitts. Dear brother of William Pitts of Needham, Joseph Pitts of Sandwich, and Walter Pitts of Eastham. Also survived by 8 nieces and nephews & 16 great nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 9:45 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, Quincy at 10:30 AM. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Donald may be made to Father Bill’s Place, Development Office, 422 Washington St., Quincy, MA 02169.
