Dorothy L. Kinsley, of Randolph, passed away on September 15, 2025. She was 97.
Dorothy grew up in North Weymouth. She loved swimming in the ocean and going to Wessagusset and Nantasket Beach. In her teens, she donated time to the old Navy Base in the Hingham Ship Yard assembling care packages for the troops during WWII. She lived in Jamaica Plain before moving to California and Nevada working a variety of jobs.
Amongst them was a casino cashier, a welder, and a hotel manager. Her family was always the center of her life. In fact, she permanently returned to the Boston area when her mother became ill and assisted with her care. She was active in her community. She always made herself available to donate crocheted afghans to organizations for fund raising. She was an avid Boston Sports Fan. You had to be on your game as she was always ready to discuss the results of the event played the previous day or night.
She was always the Life of the Party. There was never a family event that she didn’t enjoy herself. In her later years, she thoroughly enjoyed going for a ride in the car. Although she loved to tour her old North Weymouth stomping grounds, the destination did not matter as long as there was an ice cream stop along the journey. She will be forever loved and missed by all who knew her.
Loving daughter of the late Allan and Agnes Kinsley.
Beloved sister of the late Agnes Fisher, Allan “Bud” Kinsley, Jr, Florence Dalto and John Kinsley.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Graveside Service on Tuesday September 30th, 2025 at 11:30 AM in Saint Francis Xavier Cemetery, Washington Street Entrance, Weymouth.
