Dorothy M. Neelon

Dorothy M. (Hart) Neelon of Quincy, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on July 26th at the age of 93. Dorothy was the daughter of the late J. Fred and Margaret Hart and wife of the love of her life, the late Robert E. (Bobby) Neelon. She was predeceased by her beloved sisters Claire Doherty, Barbara Crossen, Marjorie Beausang and Jeanne Campbell.

Dorothy lived an extraordinarily rich life with her 5 children, 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Gerald Hart and his wife Caroline of Braintree and her devoted five children, Anne Neelon of Galveston, TX, Frances Wood and her husband David of Austin, TX, Timothy Neelon and his wife Connie of Needville, TX, Paula Banks and her husband James Theofilos of Raymond, ME and Amy O’Brien and her husband Thomas O’Brien of Quincy, MA; her 9 grandchildren David, Benjamin and Patrick Wood, Bobby and Ernie Neelon, Harrison and Sydney Banks and Jillian (O’Brien) Gray and Tommy O’Brien and 19 great grandchildren. She is also survived by an abundance of loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Dorothy had an eclectic taste in music, a lifelong love of the ocean and a joy of travel; but her passion was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her friendships spanned from high school, through to those she met only recently. All incredibly valued and important to her.

Relatives and friends invited to visiting hours on Thursday, July 30, 2026 from 4 to 7pm in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St, Quincy. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 10 AM on Friday, July 31, 2026 prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, Washington St, Quincy MA at 11 AM. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Hyde Park.
