Dorothy M. "Dottie" (Pedretti) Spink, of Weymouth, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 15, 2026, at the Life Care Center in Scituate. She was 101.

Dottie was born in Quincy on June 21, 1925, and was the daughter of the late Charles and Rose (Barsanti) Pedretti. She was raised in the South Quincy and graduated from Quincy High School.

Dottie lived a long, full, and joyful life, and she'd tell you the secret was simple: "Just be a nice person."

Dottie was happy, loving, and caring in everything she did. She took enormous pride in being a homemaker. Her house, with its big built-in pool, was where everyone wanted to be. Family gatherings, friends of friends, her door was always open, and her home was, for decades, the hangout spot everyone gravitated toward.

She loved a good day of shopping and never turned down the chance to scratch a lottery ticket. She kept her mind sharp with word search puzzles, curled up happily with an episode of The Golden Girls, and for many years gathered every Thursday with her dear friends in the Ladies Club, a tradition she carried on faithfully as its last surviving member.

And then there were the Patriots. Dottie's devotion to New England football was legendary. She never missed a game, win or lose, and when she turned 100, The New England Patriots even sent her a gift.

But more than any hobby or pastime, Dottie will be remembered for who she was: the nicest, calmest presence in any room, someone who made fast friends wherever she went and never met a stranger she couldn't win over with warmth. She didn't just live a long life, she lived a good one, and she made everyone around her a little better for having known her.

Dottie was the loving wife of the late Raymond F. Spink, who died in July of 1989. The two shared many loving years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Raymond M. Spink and his wife Eileen of Plymouth, Kenneth Spink and his wife Elaine of Idaho, Judy Foley and her husband Bill of Rockland, Richard Spink and his wife Ann of Plymouth, and the late Gail Alden. Dottie was the loving grandmother of Kimberly Skeldon and her husband Steve of Taunton, James Alden of Texas, Christopher Alden of Whitman, Kerry Schunder and her husband Michael of Rockland, Carly Collamore and her husband Dave of Quincy, Victoria Kauff and her husband Doug of Weymouth, and Samantha Spink of Quincy. She was the loving great grandmother of Kylie Skeldon of Taunton, Savannah Skeldon of Taunton, Brianna Alden of Brockton, Brooklynn Schunder of Rockland, Cody Schunder of Rockland, and Harper Collamore of Quincy. Dottie is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Following cremation, Dottie will be interred privately in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
