IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward J.
Fitzwilliam
December 12, 1933 – March 10, 2026
Visitation
Pyne Keohane Funeral Home - Hingham
4:00 - 8:00 pm (Eastern time)
Mass
With gratitude for a long and faithful life, we remember Edward J Fitzwilliam Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and uncle.
Ed was a man of uniquely deep conviction who passed away on March 10th, 2026 at the age of 92 of Alzheimers disease. He was a proud and devoted resident of Hingham for 55 years. Ed's gentle presence was guided by unwavering faith, compassion, and humility. Faith informed the way he treated others; with kindness, patience, and a steady moral compass.
He worked hard throughout his life to provide for the family he loved so dearly. Together with his beloved wife, Donna, of 66 years, he built a home centered on devotion, responsibility, love and celebrating family. Their unique partnership created a strong foundation for their six children and, later, their sixteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Ed’s example spoke clearly. He believed in doing the right thing, working diligently, and caring for others without fanfare. His quiet strength, steadfast character, profound benevolence and deep goodness left a lasting imprint on all who knew him.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday March 17, 2026 from 4-8 PM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday March 18th in Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 11:30 AM. Burial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the BU Hope study for Alzheimer’s research BU Alzheimers Disease Research Center or either of the charitable organizations where he volunteered for decades; the Hingham food pantry South Shore Food Bank and My Brothers Keeper My Brothers Keeper
