Edward G. O'Leary

Edward Gerard O’Leary, a beloved man of a large and loving extended family, passed away at home peacefully surrounded by his wife and children on June 10, 2025 at the age of 62 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was O’Leary strong!

Born at South Shore Hospital to loving parents who predeceased him, Edward and Anna O’Leary. Eddie (EO) was known for many personality traits and spending time doing things he had a passion for over the years, like being the life of the party in his youth, a trickster at times, a dedicated Weymouth town worker for over 40 years, an avid golfer, a loyal friend, his interesting humor, his love for his 1972 Pontiac, but most of all for the love he had for his wife, children, grandchildren and the strong bonds fostered with all family and friends.

Eddie is survived by Pam O’Leary, the love of his life, married for 38 years. He would say they still hold hands for two reasons - not to hit each other and not to get lost - it was really because how much they loved each other. He also is survived by their three amazing children and their spouses his son Robert and Kerri O’Leary, his daughter Kaitlynn and Richard Torres, his daughter Maegan and Michael Cashman; four beautiful grandchildren Adeline, Clare and soon-to-be new baby O’Leary, Penelope Torres, and their loyal dog Chloe and grand-dog Lady.

He is also survived by his sister Kate O’Leary and Lee Kamentsky, sister Patricia and George Batte, his brother Michael and Sue O’Leary, his mother-in-law Mary Ellen Curtis, his sister-in-law Jen Curtis and her partner Dennis Dolan, and many nieces and nephews. There are many friends who are like family who have been by the families side.

We also thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at South Shore Health, Dana Farber, and Old Colony Hospice who became our friends, family, shoulders to lean on, and support throughout this ordeal.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 6/16/2025 from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital).

A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday at 10:30 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, Weymouth.

Cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Eddie’s name to South Shore Health Emergency Services or the Cancer Center or Old Colony Hospice, causes very close to Eddie.
