Edward James Rogers, born on March 29, 1933, in Boston, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025, in Quincy, Massachusetts. He was a man of great warmth and generosity, whose life was marked by love for his family, dedication to his work, and a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures of life.
Edward was the beloved husband of Ann (Hanlon) Rogers. For almost Sixty years, they shared a life filled with joy and companionship. Edward was a devoted father to his daughters, Ann Marie Irons and her husband Stephen of Scituate, Judie of Hingham, and Francine of Winthrop. He also took great delight in his role as grandfather to Katherine Irons of Southborough, showering her with attention, and embracing the moments they spent together. His family was his pride and joy and he created memories that will be cherished by all.
Edward was a dedicated sports fan, who found the perfect professional fit with Wilson Sporting Goods Company. He was a life-long supporter of all the New England professional sports teams. In addition to his professional endeavors, Edward also found fulfillment in his hobbies. He was an avid gardener, and derived immense gratification from spending time outdoors and tending to his yard. His love for nature was matched only by his appreciation of Irish music, which often filled his home.
He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War, and will be buried with full military honors.
Edward is survived by his brother, Robert (Bucky) Rogers and his wife Diane of Weymouth, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He was the son of the late Francis and B. Agnes Rogers and was predeceased by his siblings Agnes Powers and Frank Rogers.
As we reflect on the legacy of Edward James Rogers, we remember a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and brought happiness to all who were fortunate enough to be part of his life. His presence will be profoundly missed, yet his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
