Eileen M. (Dillon) Allen, a Weymouth resident for 35 years, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. She was 71.
Eileen was born in Boston on May 30, 1954, and was the daughter of the late Matthew and Edith (Feeley) Dillon. She was raised in Dorchester's St. Peter's Parish and was a graduate of Cardinal Cushing High School. She continued her education at Westbrook College in Maine, where she earned her associates degree.
She met the love of her life, Bobby, in 1970, at Kelly’s Landing in South Boston, where they both worked. The two were married on September 27, 1974, at St. Peter’s Church in Dorchester. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to family.
Eileen was known for her love of shopping and continued her passion for finding bargains right up until her last days. She had a special fondness for TJ Maxx and Ross Stores, where she always seemed to uncover the best deals. Frugal yet fashionable, she delighted in the thrill of the hunt.
Easygoing and soft spoken, Eileen always had a warm smile and a pleasant demeanor. She adored spending time with her grandchildren and had a natural gift for connecting with children everywhere.
She enjoyed traveling, spending sunny days at the beach, and relaxing in the sand while soaking up the sun. She was also an avid card player and board game enthusiast. Eileen was fiercely competitive and always ready for a good challenge.
After retiring in 2017 from the United States Postal Service, Eileen moved to Florida, where she continued to live her life with purpose and generosity. She played an integral role in starting the Kids Closet Ministry at Orange Park Christian Church in Orange Park, Florida. Her devotion to the ministry and to helping others made a lasting impact, as she dedicated countless hours to serving families in need.
Eileen will be remembered for her kindness, her laughter, her competitive spirit, and her endless love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Eileen was the beloved wife of Robert A. "Bob" Allen originally from Southie. She was the devoted mother of Robert “Rob” Allen Jr. and his wife Rachel of Staten Island, New York, Christine Gray and her husband Rob of Canton, and Elizabeth “Liz” Allen of Weymouth. Eileen was the loving Grammy of Keagan and Kason Gray, and Kerry and Madeline Allen. She was the dear sister of Matthew Dillon and his wife Marion of Los Angeles, William Dillon and his wife Patricia of Maine, and her brother-in-law, Peter Ehrlich. Eileen is predeceased by her loving sister-in-law Patricia (Allen) Ehrlich and brother Richard Dillon. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte. 18, opp. South Shore Hospital).
