Eileen Rita Furey (Moynihan) of Hull and Quincy, Massachusetts, peacefully passed away on October 16, 2026 at home surrounded by family. She was 91 years old.

Born in Brockton, Massachusetts on June 28, 1935, she was the daughter of Patrick and Delia Moynihan. Eileen graduated from St. Patrick’s High School and Stonehill College where she was a part of the first women's graduating class, alongside her best friend of 60+ years, Mary Keegan. Her education and upbringing shaped her hardworking, practical spirit that she brought to raising her family. After her graduation from Stonehill, Eileen worked as a social worker before she met and married the love of her life, the late Frank Furey.

Together, Eileen and Frank, created a loving home where family always came first. They raised their five children in Quincy, MA and spent summers in Hull, MA at “Gunny Beach” where many cherished memories were made. Children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends gathered to share meals, laughter, and time together. Eileen spent countless hours at rinks, fields, and stages supporting her children and then grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading on the infamous porch and ending each day with the nightly game shows, most notably Family Feud.

Eileen is survived by her five children, Michael, and his wife, Dee, of Quincy, John and his wife, Janine, of Quincy, Paul and his wife, Myra, of Orlando, Nora McCormack and her husband, David, of Scituate, and Maureen Cormican, and her husband, Michael, of Quincy. She had sixteen loving grandchildren: Brian and his wife, Jenn, and Colleen Furey, Melissa, Jenna Greer and her husband, John, Matthew, and Nicholas Furey, Ryan, Elizabeth, William, and Brendan Furey, Katherine Skursha and her husband, Dan, Taylor, and Halle McCormack, Julia, Meghan, and Caitlin Cormican, and two great-grandchildren Jack and Charlie Greer.

Eileen was loved by everyone she met and will truly be missed. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Tuesday, October 20th, 4-8PM in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy.
