Obituary

Listen to Obituary

Elia ‘Ellie’ Susi of Milton, originally of Pettorano sul Gizio (Abruzzo, Italy), passed away peacefully on November 2, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Beloved wife of the late Joseph ‘Joe’ Michael Susi. Devoted mother of Joseph M. Susi, Jr. and his wife Martha of Milton, Rosanne Susi Spring and her husband Patrick of Milton, and Gina Susi Leimkuehler and her husband Christian of Milton. Proud grandmother of Lydia Susi Burke and her husband Daniel, Joseph Michael Susi III and his wife Brooke, Alia and Giana Spring, and Marc and Sofia Leimkuehler. Sister of Giovanni Franciosa and his wife Rita of Easton, the late Enrico Franciosa and his late wife Concetta of Walpole, and the late Francesco Franciosa and his late wife, Carmel of Walpole. Sister-in-law of the late Mario S. Susi, Jr. and his late wife Natalie of Milton, the late Lydia (Susi) Federico and her late husband Joseph Federico of Dedham, and the late Raymond P. Susi of Milton. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Upon arriving in America from Italy at 14 years old, Ellie settled in Dorchester with her family. Later she moved to Milton with her husband Joe and children, where she resided for 55 years. Her passions were cooking, baking, gardening, bowling, and above all, spending time with her family. Every week, she looked forward to hosting Sunday dinner, where her children and grandchildren would gather to enjoy her delicious pasta, pizza, meatballs, and many baked goods. Nothing was more important to her than family and togetherness, a way of life she instilled upon the next generations. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and daughter, a loving mother, a cherished grandmother, and beloved aunt. She is deeply missed by all who knew her and her memory will live on in our hearts.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Sunday, November 8, from 2-6 p.m. at the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, November 9, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Milton at 11:45 a.m., and burial at Milton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ellie may be made to the Marc A.
