E. Joan Stamp of Wilmington, NC passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1st. She was 96.

Joan was born in East Providence, RI to Agnes E. (Friden) and Charles W. Cady. She married William L. “Bill” Stamp and together they had 5 children. Bill’s career took them on a journey which allowed Joan to call many places home including RI, CT, MA, and AL. Once he retired, they settled in FL where they met many new friends and enjoyed many years of good times.

After Bill’s passing, Joan moved to NC to be closer to family and more recently she’d been sharing her time between NC and MA to be with her children, grandchildren and great grandchild. Her life centered around her family and her spare time was often devoted to knitting gifts for them. Joan also enjoyed old films, golf and jigsaw puzzles.

Beloved wife to the late William L. “Bill” Stamp. Devoted mother to Nancy Kenyon and her husband Kevin of NC, David Stamp of CA, Joanne Packer and her husband Don of MA, and Robert Stamp and his wife Joanna of CT. Adoring ‘Mimi’ to Angela, William, Lily, Sydney, Kevin , Erin, Connor, and MacKenzie and great grandmother to Callum. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Joan is predeceased by her son, William L. Stamp Jr., her sister Barbara Ansaldi and brother, Robert Cady.

A burial will be held privately in the Florida National cemetery at a later date.
