Elizabeth A. "Nancy" (McCloskey) Duca, of Weymouth, passed away on October 4, 2025. She was 93.
Elizabeth was born in Boston. She was raised in Houghs Neck with her five siblings.
Together they spent many happy hours playing in the creek down the street from their house. Although named “Elizabeth,” she was known for most of her life as “Nancy.” As she told the story, when she was born, the nurses at the hospital thought she looked like a “Nancy,” and the name stuck.
Elizabeth was a graduate of Quincy High School. She worked for the US Navy before taking time off to raise her four children. After her children were grown, she went to work for WGBH in Boston.
Elizabeth loved to fly and go anywhere. She traveled throughout the United States and all over the world, visiting more than 25 countries including Australia, China, Egypt, Russia, Turkey and her favorite, Ireland.
Beloved wife of the late James W. Duca.
Loving mother of Lauren E. Duca of Weymouth and Michael J. Duca both of Weymouth, Karen A. Duca of Ghana, Africa, and Paul J. Duca of Weymouth.
Sister of Charles “Bud” F. McCloskey of Carver, and the late Robert A. McCloskey, Mary V. Burden, Paul G. McCloskey, and Sheila R. Kellogg.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
